I, being a catholic (not very devout though.. I don't follow much of Christianity's principles, other than "be good to others" - which I think most other religions also profess... And yeah, I go to church every Sunday :-D), am strongly against banning of the film.

I am of the opinion that, a catholic whose faith is strong, will not believe in the story conveyed by the film.
If anyone's faith can be shaken by a fictional movie, he is not fit to be a catholic (or a hindu, or a moslem)...

Everyone knows that the movie is based on a fictional story, written by someone who's going to rot in hell when he dies.
(Yeah, I am against Dan Brown. This is my personal opinion. No discussions on this)...

Well, I think Vatican too thinks the same way. If a person is going to believe in an asshole called Dan Brown, he might as well become a satanist. How does it matter to the catholic church???

These perverts (that is, christian groups) have no other work than show their love to their religion openly.
If they love Christ (who, in my opinion, died for us), let them follow the principles set forth by Christ.
Let them go on the streets and help beggars and downtrodden with the same money that they are using for this protest shit.

Forget Christ, whom they have never seen, and whom they will never see (as Christ does not visit hell), let them take the example of Mother Teresa. If she were alive, I don't think she'd have protested against this film. She would have been too busy serving God (she saw God in the poor and downtrodden), than to bother about all this protesting shit..

I have got SMS from some catholic friends of mine asking to forward a message that demands the ban of that movie. I have told them the same thing, if your faith can be shaken, don't be a catholic.

And yeah, I have decided to watch the movie anyway.
Let me see whether it can move my faith.
If you ask me, it can't... Nothing can.

I know a guy who told me that after reading the book 'Holy Grail, Holy Blood', (I guess you already know what this book is about), he is losing faith. You decide what kind of a guy he is.

I have been asked by some people whether the Bible was twisted during translation.
Who knows? Probably God.
The church (that is, Vatican) has been actively involved in Europian politics for long long years... And this participation ended just a few centuries ago. So, the then pontiffs of catholicism (note: there is a subtle difference between a christian and a catholic) might have changed the lines during translation according to their wish.. After all, how many people can read or write Hebrew (the original language in which the main books of bible were written)? And how many are going to verify each and every line of those 72 books that consists of the whole Bible???

Well, how much can they twist? Christianity has existed outside the bible too. When was the first bible published? I don't know, and i am not ashamed of not knowing it. But I know that many of the books (the parts of bible) were written decades and decades after Christ's death. Meanwhile, christianity was being practiced. St Peter was the pope, the first pope. He laid down some rules for christians. We still follow them. So, how much of bible is twisetd?

Never mind, let us come back to our discussion.

I think these christian groups can ask the movie distributors to write a note like "this movie is based on a fictional story, BLAH BLAH". Of course, such notes are usually written, but no one usually reads them. May be the groups can emphasize on "clearly" conveying this message. The definition of "clearly" is left to you..

Hats off to you Rohan .... Wish every person think in the same way as you .... We wont have so many religion related issues .... People forget the fact that a Religion is nothing but faith in the almighty ..... Its immaterial wether you see the almighty in a Shiva .... Allah.... Buddha ... or a Jesus .... But wat is more important is how much of faith you have in them .....
All of them preached to love and respect each other

No religion preaches hatred .... Its the few wrong people who spread across the wrong meaning of their own religion .... Its these people with double standards who now in a vain attempt to get fame...power ... and money now twist the preachings and take advantage of the loop holes in the existing literature about our religions .....

Be it an author like Dan Brown ... Some Danish Cartoonist... M F Hussain ( I refer to him as Mother F**** Hussain ... personal opinion though ) ... A Bin Laden ... or our Politicians .... None of them belong to any religion ... they are selfish Bastards who for the sake of their own vested interest dont mind playing with the sentiments of everyone around ...
